Oh. My. GOD. I am slack-jawed. I NEVER saw such a performance. And I am talking as one who has seen Yes, King Crimson, AND Frank Zappa live. Mike. You are THE man.
No, his idol is and was Jean Sibelius, a finnish composer in the 19th century. And I think he had followed him. Fan of Mike since the 70ties, (OMG what a grandpa), Fan in Germany, Frankfurt since the very early times. Mike, Michael Oldfield, pride of Wales since then!!! I am so in love with electronic pop (Jarre (Jean-Michel), Mike and of course: Maggie Reilly!!!!
4:18 I love Mike Oldfields music and cannot play any instruments so I’m not criticising, honest, but does anyone know if the keyboard player missed some beats shortly and throws it out for 30 seconds or so. I know the musician was a regular live player for him and therefore was very good so this is a genuine question of historical curiosity 🎹🎼
La entrada del viento, la proa fabricando diamantes, la popa silbando larga estela de brillantes encajes de espumas. Y la música de Miguel bendiciendolo todo.Nunca me sentí tan cerca del Cielo como escuchando tu magia. Gracias!!

I am confirming my own thoughts from your comment.

I think I am a freak. Never fed up of Oldfield's work of arts.
The Bach of our times.

I was only 13 in 1980, damn! I wish I had run away and watched this!

Breathtaking music :-)
Fantastic performance!
A very modern Motzart, & Bach, and Scottish, English, and Irlandasi, with bits of Arabic.

He loved Bach also, and Bach was the key to Tubular Bells.
@@1967davidfitness Yes, and he also recorded a Vivaldi piece.
Thank you very much for this upload!! Really good quality for an old VHS-tape!

Turn your guitar up, Mike.
At 4:22 there is a mistake by Maggie by confusing the melody.

biggest Myke's issue. choosing the vocal.
I think Shadow on the wall by Jhon Miles was the best.
